Policy's change delayed (Oct 17 2003 14:28 GMT) - Policy's change delayed VACAVILLE -- Vacaville Unified School District boardmembers voted 5-1 Thursday to delay making a decision on a policy that would require schools to alert parents if their children leave campus for confidential medical services. Parents waving picket signs in the audience urged boardmembers to make a decision that night because they opposed a state law that allows students grades 7 through 12 to seek those services during school. Services include suicide prevention, birth control, drug and alcohol addiction, sexually transmitted diseases and abortion. |
