It's Official: We're Fighting A War On Islam (Oct 17 2003 18:59 GMT) - Jihad isn't just for Muslims anymore, according to Lieutenant-General William "Jerry" Boykin, the man tasked with hunting down Osama bin Laden. Boykin phrased the war on terror as a battle against "Satan," who he said was represented by Muslims who worshipped "idols." "The battle that we're in is a spiritual battle," said Boykin. "Satan wants to destroy us as a Christian army." Caught between Iraq and a hard place, Rumsfeld downplayed... |

Mahathir Strikes Out: Fear Of A Jewish Planet (Oct 17 2003 18:59 GMT) - As the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) began its meeting this week, Malaysia's Mahathir Mohammed grabbed headlines and dragged the organization further into the mud. Sounding like a fresh convert to propaganda tracts like "Protocols of the Elders of Zion," Mohammed let loose an onslaught of anti-semitic polemic at the opening ceremonies of the OIC. In his fiery speech, he told leaders of the Islamic world that 1.3 billion Muslims could not be "defeated by a few... |

When Muslims Condemn Terror, The Media Doesn't Listen (Oct 17 2003 18:59 GMT) - Like most of the US yesterday, American Muslims spent the second anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in remembrance. They participated in peace walks, offered support for counter-terrorism efforts, and held memorial events. Now more than ever, with American views of Islam becoming increasingly negative, peace-loving Muslims need to get their message out. But the most visible mention of Muslim 9/11 events yesterday focused on the UK-based extremist group al-Muhajiroun, who planned several... |

Killing The Moderates: Muslim Extremism Turns Inward (Oct 17 2003 18:59 GMT) - In the Muslim world these days, the pen is just no match for the sword. Increasingly, theological and political debates in the Muslim world are being "won" by extremists who don't bother to argue their case to the people - they just kill their opponent. Case in point: the bombing murder of Ayatollah Mohammad Baqer al-Hakim and nearly 100 others at one of the most sacred shrines of Shi'a Islam in Najaf, Iraq. It seems that bombing people to oblivion isn't just for infidels anymore... |

Blogger News Item (Oct 17 2003 18:58 GMT) - And then you hear the one about the "top Vatican official," one of those ultra-dour black-robed cardinals who never see daylight or the modern world or love, espousing the official Vatican line in a recent interview, claiming that condoms do not, in fact, prevent the transmission of the AIDS virus. "Relying on condoms is like betting on your own death," muttered Cardinal Alfonso Lopez Trujillo, the head of the Vatican's Pontifical Council for the Family. True. He said it. And lightning, shockingly, did not strike his pasty sanctimonious butt dead on the spot. |

What I am also coming across is a whole load of old files from I don’t know when. Here is some of my old college poetry. At once they can be seen as pretty hilarious stuff but put them in context of what everyone that age puts out. |
