(Oct 17 2003 19:54 GMT) - About mid-way through September I had written off blogging for the month because of professional and personal demands on my time, but here we are mid-way through October and still no posts. I guess blogging is an easy habit to fall out of. I'll see what I can do to rectify that. |

UK/Catholic: Guardian Hatchet Job (Oct 17 2003 19:53 GMT) - I suppose it was inevitable that either The Guardian or the New York Times (or both) would decide to unleash the metaphorical hounds on the occasion of the Pope's silver jubilee. I've honestly never understand the venom that's directed toward the Pope or the Church by many in the media. They seem hysterical: at once calling the Church "irrelevant" and yet the source of all that is evil in the world. I'm not sure how they can have it both ways. |

Brains (Oct 17 2003 19:51 GMT) - Jason mentions how his brain went on autopilot while he was starting a weblog entry. This reminds of something that was happening to me while in the UK. The Xerox offices in Bourne End we're very open - no cube walls, all desks connected. I really enjoyed the social aspect of it, and ended up getting more done when I was surrounded by people.
