What should blog entries be? (Oct 17 2003 23:27 GMT) - I've written some fairly long (1000+ word) pieces on my blog. I've seen other folks long pieces on their blogs as well (cbrumme's blog is the best example of this). I'm now convinced that blogs are horrible for long entries. |

Canada's latest same-sex union: Progressive Conservative + Canadian Alliance = The Conservative Party (Oct 17 2003 23:25 GMT) - Check out the happy couple. The predominant term used to describe the merging of the Canadian Alliance and the Progressive Conservative political parties has been marriage, and to a similar extent, union. These terms have been tossed about by the participants as well as the media. Since the merger is really the work of the two party leaders, both male, I think this must qualify as a same-sex union. Congratulations, Stephen and Peter. |

[Guardian Unlimited] 'Up to 20 unnamed US athletes, including Olympic champions and world record holders, could be suspended for life after it was revealed yesterday they had tested positive for the anabolic steroid tetrahydrogestrinone, or THG. Until recently the drug was undetectable by conventional tests. The scandal is potentially the biggest in sport since the Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson tested positive for steroids and was disqualified following his victory in the 100m at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.' |
