Helpline Comment (24112) (Oct 19 2003 14:58 GMT) - Yes, Packard Bell no longer exists in this country as it once did. But that doesn't necessarily mean that the company that bought them out cannot possibly maintain some sort of support site for them, since a lot of the old PB computers are still in use. No, it probably wouldn't be a money-maker, but it would be good PR. However, as we all know, the almighty dollar pretty much drives this industry. As to the PB CD-drive/sound card question, I've f-disked, formatted, and loaded Windows98 on too many of these to not know what I was talking about. |

It's been 50 years since the development of the polio vaccine but it's still a threat in much of the world. A child born in the developing world has a 1:6 of dying before age 5. More than 800,000 kids die from measles every year. |

iTunes for Windows First Impressions & Problems (Oct 19 2003 14:53 GMT) - This ended up rather long. I broke it up into 3 parts for that reason. I had no problems installing iTunes on my Windows box. I had only one problem in viewing and listening to music from my Mac iTunes playlists. This has to do with audio books, both bought from iTMS and directly from Audible. |
