When I was in the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle (a great zoo too) last spring, the wolf manager, speaking to visitors, said that wolves can bite three times harder than a domestic dog. I asked, "Wouldn't a similar sized domestic dog have a similar skull structure, leverage and power?" She did not know the answer to that and did not know where the "three times more powerful" claim came from. |
