Notes on Philosophy of Indymedia Chapter (Oct 20 2003 18:34 GMT) - I've been asked to help out with some folks who are working on a book about indymedia in english. The idea was that i might contribute a chapter on "Philosophy of Indymedia: open publishing, be the media, subjectivity and objectivity, decentralization, etc." I figured the best way to go about it would be in open. Student charged in airline box cutter scare (Oct 20 2003 18:32 GMT) - Federal authorities charged a North Carolina college student Monday with carrying weapons aboard an aircraft, after the discovery of box cutters and other items aboard two Southwest Airlines jets last week. Nathaniel Heatwole, 20, of Damascus, Maryland, is expected to make an initial appearance Monday afternoon in U.S. District Court in Baltimore. According to an FBI affidavit, Heatwole admitted to investigators last week that he planted the items -- box cutters, bleach, matches and modeling clay resembling plastic explosives -- on the aircraft in mid-September. |

Box Cutters on Planes 5 Weeks, FBI Says (Oct 20 2003 18:32 GMT) - From GUNED.COM-- WASHINGTON - A college student told federal authorities he placed box cutters and other banned items aboard two Southwest Airlines planes nearly five weeks before they were found, according to an FBI affidavit. The affidavit, obtained by The Associated Press, said Nathaniel Heatwole, 20, told agents he went through normal security procedures at airports in Baltimore and Raleigh-Durham, N.C., and was able to carry the forbidden items onto the planes. |

(Oct 20 2003 18:32 GMT) - Another Review of The Wow Signal From: Wednesday Elektra/Space Junkies Magazine When you look at the artwork for this Pat Ortman CD "The Wow Signal," you will find a very Nouveau style of cut and paste imagery. For some reason it reminds me of Elton John. It has a touch of ecentricism, that only Elton could be noted for! Though when you dig in and listen to the CD more than great sounds mingle in your mind. |
