?That's not exactly a small dog there ? ? (Oct 21 2003 05:59 GMT) - I dropped off The Kids to after school care and returned to the Facility in the Middle of Nowhere. I asked Spring if she had called the rental office about the washing machine (it stopped spinning) and the A/C (it keeps freezing over). No, she had not had the time this morning, so I took it upon myself to do that, since Spring was heading off to bed. Not having the phone number, I walked over to the office to get it. Now, you may be asking yourself why, if I was already walking over there to begin with, that I just don't tell them. |

Motorola MPx200 review (Oct 21 2003 05:59 GMT) - One of the first reviews we've seen of the MPx200, Motorola's new cellphone running Microsoft's Smartphone operating system, giving an overview of how the OS works and all the different applications it comes with:While I have already read reports of people complaining that this device does not include the Windows Mobile 2003 for Smart Phone OS. I found the current OS to be very responsive. At least, when compared to my current Nokia 3650.I would have also liked to have seen Bluetooth included with this device. |

florida poker a success (Oct 21 2003 05:58 GMT) - Another good article about the success that Florida poker rooms have had since the new laws went into effect, allowing games up to $1-$2, this time from the Florida Times-Union.It took years for Florida's pari-mutuel facilities to convince the Legislature to loosen the rules restricting card rooms at dog tracks, horse tracks and jai alai frontons across the state. But it only took one night to convince Mike Cernobyl it was working.Link Comments (0) |

SCO deals with MS and RBC (Oct 21 2003 05:53 GMT) - In a rather disappointing turn, I found this story, that the Royal Bank of Canada has invested a good deal of money in SCO. CNet points to SCO as an open source company, very much wrong, but they do explain that $30 of the $50 million that BayStar Capital poured into the unstable SCO came from the RBC, which weakens any remaining respect I had for the banking giant. The Register reports that SCO has licensed a few key protocols from MS. "The SCO Group is one of four new licensees for Microsoft's interoperability protocols, we learn from the latest antitrust compliance bulletin. Regular reports are issued to monitor compliance with the Antitrust settlement, specifically "to ensure that rival middle-ware can interoperate" with Microsoft servers. |
