Shaking and Baking: Solar Powered Car Proves No Laggard (Oct 21 2003 14:07 GMT) - It looks like a tortoise, performs like a hare. It's a real achievement to best your opponents by 50 km. on the first day of an auto race. It's particularly impressive when none of you has fuel in your cars.Yet that's the accomplishment scored today by Nuna II in the seventh World Solar Challenge, a race which 22 competitors will travel the length of Australia using only the Sun's power. |

Kid Notorious (Oct 21 2003 14:07 GMT) - While not without its crude charms, it's hard to imagine the kitschy cult status Robert Evans earned with the book-turned-docu "The Kid Stays in the Picture" staking "Kid Notorious" to much appeal beyond the very narrow confines of Hollywood. That's probably enough street cred, though, to satisfy the desperate-to-be-noticed gang at Comedy Central. [Variety.com] |

My Favorite Mornings (Oct 21 2003 14:06 GMT) - My favorite mornings, by far, are the mornings I wake up to the first alarm at 6:50 AM, then gradually wake up over a series of snooze hits until 8:00, when I get up and shower and do that thing, to get out of the house by 8:15. My least favorite mornings? |

Link your club to the Top Clubs List/Directory [Charles McGill] (Oct 21 2003 14:06 GMT) - Hi all Just an idea to make it easier for the newer members to find the Top Clubs List/Directory. If all the top clubs on the list put a link to it then everyone can find the Top Clubs much easier. For those not on the list of Top Clubs yet, you can join the Reciprocal Links Club and we will set up a list of members clubs which everbody can link to in order to make it easier for others to find your club. Regards Charlie |

Why he left the Left (Oct 21 2003 14:05 GMT) - Denis Miller talks to the American Enterprise Institute: "To be on the Left, you have to be amazingly certain about things you’re guessing at, and I felt like a phony. I was looking for ideas, and all I was getting from liberals was, 'We’d like a little more of your money, and we’re kind of reticent to protect you from bad guys.' Really? That’s all you’re offering? |
