A woman at the company said to just use the pancake mix and add fresh blueberries to get the same result. TS1 made our first batch of them tonight and the taste test is scheduled for breakfast tomorrow.! |

Do lots of small ideas equal one big one? (Oct 22 2003 03:53 GMT) - So, I read Ed Cone's dispatch from Dean HQ tonight, and wondered, "So what?" Sure, there's excitement in the air in South Burlington--and maybe it's not from the free Magic Hat beer on the brewery tour, or the latest Phish sighting. France escapes deficit fine (Oct 22 2003 03:53 GMT) - BBC NEWS: France escapes deficit fine The European Commission has decided not to impose sanctions against France, even though it will be in breach of the EU's strict financial rules for the third year in a row. The Commission has given France another year - until 2005 - to bring its budget deficit below the permitted level of 3% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Paris will have to make cuts in government spending and report every six months to explain how it is bringing its deficit under control. Some smaller countries had asked the Commission to levy big fines on France. |

Dubya show starts tonight (Oct 22 2003 03:52 GMT) - Today's Canberra Times has details of the effort being put into Dubya Bush's 21 hour stop in Canberra. In addition to the 450 AFP officers being deployed about town, he's bringing 650 of his own agents. While we don't know which roads will be closed and for how long while he's here, it would be best to avoid the Parliamentary triangle, Adelaide Avenue and the War Memorial at around 5.00pm tomorrow. Apparently 'decoy' limosines will also be driving around town. |

Welsh drink King O'Malley's dry (Oct 22 2003 03:52 GMT) - The Canberra Times has got a story here on the celebrations in town on Sunday night after Wales beat Tonga in the Rugby World Cup (before or after they pranged the golf buggy we ask?). Apparently King O'Malley's publican Peter Barclay "was forced to get into his ute and drive around town begging other publicans for any spare kegs of beer" describing it as "the equivalent of three St Patrick's Days" This coming Saturday night with Wales playing Italy for a place in the finals should be an absolute corker. |
