Analyst Over Reacts To Camera Phones In The Workplace (Oct 22 2003 07:19 GMT) - There have been plenty of stories in the last few months about certain workplaces banning camera phones (including camera phone maker Samsung). While it's definitely important to understand the issues that camera phones raise, there's no reason to over react to them. Of course, you wouldn't know that listening to Jack Gold at the Meta Group, who has gone with the knee-jerk reaction telling people that all companies should ban all camera phones outright. This is, of course, the typical response to anyone who doesn't understand a technology and is afraid of it (just ban it!), but does little to help in real life. |

Blogger News Item (Oct 22 2003 07:18 GMT) - Republican Senator: General should step aside during probe The chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee called on Tuesday for the temporary reassignment of a Pentagon official who made church speeches casting the war on terrorism in religious terms. This has the Bushies in a very bad place. If they dump their loony tunes General, their core support, the Religious Right will go ballistic. However, I suspect they will dump the general anyway. |

Blogger News Item (Oct 22 2003 07:18 GMT) - If I were you, I'd take a permanent vacation More than a dozen American troops haven't return to duty after getting a vacation from Iraq, the Pentagon said Tuesday, dismissing suggestions there is any significant AWOL problem. Of course there isn't! I'm sure the troops are just raring to go back to stifling heat where locals shoot at them while they ponder just why the Hell are we here anyway. |

Setting up routers in October 2003 for both wireless and wired networks is unfortunately much too difficult for techies and non techies. |

I also made up a really simple XML representation of Bayesian classifications and made Newsbruiser export to it. I call it Cheatsheet, and I hope others will use it so that people can, eg. share a Bayesian spam corpus between NewsBruiser and SpamAssassin. If something like this already exists, let me know and I'll kill Cheatsheet. |
