Real Burger (Oct 22 2003 23:48 GMT) - Now that I can start posting again I feel hungry. How 'bout a 6 pound burger? This place actually makes these huge hamburgers (take a look at the picture on the site) that also include: Two whole tomatoes A half-head of lettuce 12 slices of American cheese A full cup... |

And the latest winner is . . . (Oct 22 2003 23:47 GMT) - Erin! (no blog!!) She correctly guessed that I was not offered a role in an episode of Matlock kissing Jeri Ryan. As you might have guessed from the true stories, Andy Griffith and all things Matlock suck the big one. Die Matlock die! |

So, this thing happened Wednesday ... (Oct 22 2003 23:46 GMT) - So, this thing happened Wednesday a week ago. I was talking with my new advisor, and he asked me what was the one thing I would do research on if I could do research on anything in the world. And I didn't have any clue. Eventually I said I wanted to help make social change occur more smoothly. He asked me why... |

Why Iraq? (Oct 22 2003 23:46 GMT) - A thread over on Joggle's forums (of all places) seems to have set me off, a little. They were talking about the fact that the US is still searching for WMD's in Iraq, so far without any luck. Someone suggested that this is like trying to find cigarettes in your kid's room, after warning him for six months that you were going to search his room for them. I'll probably regret posting this here, as... |

FBI Not Allowed To Secretly Destroy Info On Other's Computers (Oct 22 2003 23:45 GMT) - A federal judge has told the FBI that they cannot access some unknown computers that don't belong to them and destroy data, though, the Justice Department is thinking about asking again. It seems that, somehow, some confidential information about an undercover operation from fifteen years ago was leaked during a court case. The FBI requested permission to go seek out computers that hold copies of this information and to destroy it. They don't say where the computers are, or how they know which computers have this information (if they know at all). It seems a little backwards that the FBI really believes that publicly available information can be "erased" like that. |

G4 iBooks! (Oct 22 2003 23:42 GMT) - Wow. Apple today released G4 iBooks. Talk about bang for the buck, the $1099 base model (12 inch) is better in all specs than my 5 month old $1299 mid line except for 100MHz in processor speed (probably made up for with G4 architecture) and HD size (30GB vs 40GB). These puppies will boot in OS X only. I made a bug deal about dual-boot being a must have in a portable when I order the iBook, and I don't think I've booted into OS 9 once. |
