This unfortunate development has been covered in recent Wired News article (which Media Blog has strongly criticized). Comment spam is insidious, and there appears to be no easy way to deal with it. I work for a building developer, whos current project is a set of 12 flats and a large house in Caversham, Reading (for those familiar with the Reading area, as you go across the bridge from Reading into Caversham, and go up Saint Peter's Hill you can see the building site behind a large flint and brick wall). As you enter the site, there is a large dove cot on a large stone pillar which is a state of dis-repair. I have been charged with the task of building a new dove cot that will stand on the pillar, for birds to live in as the doves did for years in the old box. |
