- When I heard a noise behind me this morning my first instinct was to look up and to the right where my car's rear view mirror would normally be. That reflex coupled with a bathroom mirror which suddenly refuses to display any image other than the Michelin Man convinced me that I've been slacking off in the exercise department. My brutally long commute to work and derriere expanding office job virtually guarantee a sedentary existance but until I'm able to change my living arrangements I'll have to become more proactive about preserving my sanity and fitness. My solution today was to work from home and play hooky for a few hours by walking three miles each way to the public library in town. That's right, I have now reached the advanced age when one brags about walking as exercise. |
