Fashion Incensed (Oct 26 2003 23:09 GMT) - About-Face offers a gallery of magazine ads most demeaning to women. My personal favorite is the American Express ad that promises to protect sun-bathing women from being eaten by landsharks. (10-26) |

Acrobat Tip (Oct 26 2003 23:09 GMT) - Sanjay has a great tip to speed up your Acrobat 6 startup for Windows. I don't know if it works for Mac OS X as well—it probably should—because Panther's Preview app is so freakin' fast that I don't care. That and I only have Acrobat Reader 5 installed because I never saw a need to upgrade, which is very unusual for me, the Upgrade King. |

Radio Userland Kick Start (Oct 26 2003 23:08 GMT) - After almost a year of using Radio Userland to publish this weblog, there is now a book out! That's right, this is the first book published on using Radio Userland. I ordered it over 4 months ago and it just published and shipped this past week. Based on the author's (Rogers Cadenhead) weblog (Workbench), it should be a good reference book to turn to. Ever since I've started using Radio, I've mainly been finding out how to do things by reading other weblogs, reading radio's discussion boards and e-mailing people who like to help. |

There is no such thing as 'partial birth abortion' in medical literature. cartography (Oct 26 2003 23:08 GMT) - A later presentation by Michael Winnick , a student at ID, labelled a similar mystery in the product design process. How we get from business requirements (often captured in a marketing requirements document) to a spec. He labelled the void in between as "Terra Incognita," which made me think of unchartered waters.... - peterme.com |

infanticide (Oct 26 2003 23:08 GMT) - But the sources have been scattered. The picture has been murky. The 3,000 or so defectors who over the past decade or so have found asylum have almost all been funneled to South Korea, where the "sunshine" policy of appeasement shoves their awful stories into the shadows. In the West, the general sense has been... - Insults Unpunished |
