Stop Bush! (Oct 28 2003 17:59 GMT) - George Bush’s state visit to Britain on 19, 20 and 21 November adds insult to the injury already inflicted by the Iraq war. Millions of people will be horrified that the warmonger in chief is being fêted in London. Already many people wanting to do something have contacted the Stop the War Coalition. Following the success of our demo on the 27th September, many people are suddenly realising that there is still an enormous movement for peace and justice in the country. The Bush visit is the next major opportunity to give expression to those beliefs, and mobilise the British people against the phoney Bush-Blair “war on terror”. |

Open source citizenship (Oct 28 2003 17:57 GMT) - On the world stage, both failures and successes can loom larger than in the corporate cubicle. Developers who plug into the reputation-driven meritocracy of open source -- while advancing the goals of your business -- are a force to be reckoned with. [InfoWorld: Open source citizenship: October 24, 2003] This column was based on the observation that corporate IT shops are apparently more likely to fork an open source project for internal development and use, than to join and contribute to the project. |

There is a great article ... (Oct 28 2003 17:57 GMT) - There is a great article in the New Yorker this week about how Ken Lay will likely never be convicted for Enron (sorry, it isn't online). Inside the article is an amazing statement from the judge who presided over the trial of Fastow, Enron's CFO. It is an amazing indictment of American civilization that a |

We have 319 at the Wawa (Oct 28 2003 17:55 GMT) - So I was doing a search on my new digs the other day to see what interesting things would come up. Oddly, I ran across this website that is solely devoted to what type of police car each borough and township uses. There are pictures. Lots of pictures. Can anyone tell me why anyone would be that interested in the past and present police cars of a borough? |
