Blogger News Item (Oct 28 2003 17:08 GMT) - This morning I completed a homework assignment, "Issues Related to Returning to School". I was able to complete the assignment in MS Word, but it was one of 20 formated pages in a document therefore I printed the one page that I needed, then I scanned it into Adobe and attached it to an email and sent it to the professor. Now that is really something. Just think how efficient and easy it is to turn in assignments on time. |

Blogger News Item (Oct 28 2003 17:08 GMT) - Taking the day off today to catch up on some homework. I am watching the Bush press conference on CNN this morning. Bush sounds and looks physically and mentally tired after his trip to Southeast Asia. I'm sure that the mental stress was beyond his ability to cope with. After all the leaders he met with are far and above him in mental acuity. |

SenseWear (Oct 28 2003 17:07 GMT) - Does anyone out there remember Rocky IV? You know, the one where Sylvester Stallone has to fight this Soviet boxer (played by Dolph Lundgren) who uses all this fancy technology to train while all Rocky has is this desolate cabin in the middle of nowhere? Not ringing a bell? Well, it doesn't really matter, it's just that for some reason BodyMedia's SenseWear armband, reminds us of that scene in the movie where Drago (the Soviet boxer) is attached to all these computers. It's a wearable sensor that gathers all sorts of physiological data which can then be uploaded to the web as part of some weight-loss program. |

Hidden Spoons (Oct 28 2003 17:07 GMT) - I've always been a sucker for spoon-based games (especially the classic card game, Spoons). So when I read this I had to pass it on. From Yea, but is it art:Visit their home and then, when leaving, tell them that you've hidden a spoon somewhere in the flat and they have to find it. You could mention that there is a five pound note wrapped around it too... |

Comment Previews (Oct 28 2003 17:07 GMT) - Yes, I finally got round to really updating the tech side of this site for the first time in ages. To aid accessibility, comment permalinks now have title attributes attached (not much, but it helps). For those occassions when standard acronyms are to be over-ridden, I've added the ability to switch off auto acronyms. Finally, I added a comment previewing feature (that should keep Jacques happy, at least). Go on, have a play with them. |
