Microsoft doesn't like workers photographing deliveries of Macs (Oct 30 2003 17:48 GMT) - A blogger who posted an "Even Microsoft wants G5s" story with a picture of palettes of dual G5 Macs being unloaded at Microsoft was later told "you're no longer welcome on the Microsoft campus". Comment: hard to raise any sympathy for either side, here. It sounds Draconian, but someone apparently supplied by a temp agency to work in Microsoft's copy print shop is far from indespensable, and blogging pictures of deliveries arriving at your place of work is probably impossible to justify under any serious US employment contract. In this case, it's also dumb. |

An early eval of Apple's MacOS X 10.3 (Oct 30 2003 17:48 GMT) - Apple's BSD-based MacOS X 10.3 Panther offers 64-bit processor support and new features wrapped in the latest version of a GUI that has its roots in the NeXT desktop. (Oct 30 2003 17:46 GMT) - Gooya News has launched a new English section. Each blog or English website that's written from Iran and about Iran, would work more than thouasand of dollars that Foreign Minstery of I.R.Iran spends to change the image of Iran in the world. Although we sometimes have to re-shape that image as well, because after all they are not our representative. |

Successful Roman Festival Sparks Call For Community Dig (Oct 30 2003 17:46 GMT) - MIDDLEWICH Roman Festival has proved to be such a success that the town has developed a vision for a museum and a 'community dig' to retrieve archeological items. Town clerk Jonathan Williams has teamed up with archeologist Tim Strickland to bid for a grant of almost £50,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund. They are hoping that a grant would enable them to carry out further research on Roman Middlewich and look at the potential for a museum."The grant money could also help to fund a community dig", said Williams, "as this would be a great way to get people involved in searching for Roman artefacts that could eventually be displayed for the whole town to see." |
