- NineMSN have got a story here on the sentencing, on appeal, of Simon Lappas to 6 months of imprisonment (the RA Lappas file is here) Justices Higgins, Cooper and Weinberg said "In our view, nothing less than a period of actual imprisonment would meet the needs of general deterrence in this case" which I wholeheartedly agree with. They also said "We note that were conduct of this type to occur under the new sentencing regime governing the offence of espionage, a very much heavier term of imprisonment would have been imposed." So a bit of a slap for DIO for giving this fruitloop a job handling sensitive data and now we wait to see if Simon hands himself in. |
