For corporate weblogging's best practices, ... (Oct 31 2003 18:44 GMT) - For corporate weblogging's best practices, go back and read my "Corporate Weblogger's Manifesto."

Was ist also so schlimm an den Pics? |

Once Dunkin' staple, labor-intensive cruller out (Oct 31 2003 18:43 GMT) - Its retirement never even merited a notice on the drive-through menu, much less a memorial service with Homer Simpson-esque eulogies. But over the summer, when customers were distracted by Coffee Coolattas and maple-frosted scones and such, Dunkin' Donuts took a step that left some loyalists with an empty, funereal feeling, twisting them in knots like the snack whose passing they now mourn. unbelievable. the donut had to go because of new technology. |

Coolest Halloween song ever (Oct 31 2003 18:39 GMT) - I was all set to do a rant about how I was so stupid as to sign up for a one-year contract with eMusic, so I couldn’t cancel immediately now that they’re in their new business model. But I found the coolest Halloween song ever there today, and since I’m still paying for the service I downloaded it there rather than paying $0. |

t log (Oct 31 2003 18:38 GMT) - Artful meditations, ancient and modern. It's a joy to get unexpected feedback from somebody, out of the blue. In a delightful note, Tim Girvin tells me that his work with the Wachowsky brothers was "surely one of the more interesting exposures in my creative litany". Good timing too, with cinema magazines everywhere gearing up for 'The Matrix Revolutions', due for Bonfire Night release. The multi-talented Tim and his team "branded the Matrix", as logged here in March. |

Lock-in prevents landfill (Oct 31 2003 18:38 GMT) - The AP has run a good piece on cellphone recycling that is marred by an excitingly stupid lede about the likelihood that number-portability will cause many of us to throw away our phones once we get better deals under the new competitive rules, and that this will be an environmental disaster. Lock-in prevents landfill. Cheez. The new rule that takes effect Nov. 24 allowing users to change wireless (news - web sites) companies without losing their phone numbers is expected to motivate as many as 30 million people to switch within the first year. |
