Linux Multi-Booting 101 (Nov 08 2003 23:11 GMT) - With such a range of different distributions, all targetted at slightly different audiences, the question is “How do I choose the distribution that's just right for me, and what I wants to do?”. The answer is that you don't. You'll probably end up installing several distributions at different points in your Linux “career”. If you are a tinkerer and have plenty of hard drive space, you may even end up installing several at the same time. |

(Nov 08 2003 23:11 GMT) - At an Apple financial analyst conference on Wednesday CEO Steve Jobs admitted that Apple makes no revenue from the online download service, the iTunes Music Store, that he launched in April. Stalemate on digital content (Nov 08 2003 23:11 GMT) - Travis Kalanick has a problem with the emerging world of legal online music services. As the head of peer-to-peer content distribution company Red Swoosh, he was naturally curious to try Roxio's new Napster download service when it launched last week. Trouble is, Napster uses Microsoft technology that doesn't work with his iPod, the best-selling portable music player, produced by Apple Computer. "People don't like that," Kalanik said. "Until these services have standards, and they're compatible, and you can play whatever you have on whatever device you have, people are going to resort to the services that do give them that. |
