Radical pedagogies (Nov 13 2003 00:33 GMT) - Over lunch at the bar I read student essays, and beside me down the counter two men talked about helping their kids with homework. 'I help like a teacher,' one says. 'I read her work and tell her 'this is wrong, this is wrong, and this is wrong,' and she has to go figure out how to fix it. Then she comes back and I tell her what else is wrong.' He takes a bite of his pulled pork sandwich. |
