Sinterklaas Kapoentje (Nov 15 2003 18:57 GMT) - Saint Nocholas has arrived and all the children get presents in their shoes tonight. That is, if they sing a special song near the fireplace and put a carrot and some hay for the horse in their shoes before going to bed. I went out with my collea... |

A New TV (Nov 15 2003 18:57 GMT) - Aldi had a great offer this week. We bought a 82 cm wide screen 100 Hz tv from Medion. It's a huge 50 kg tv, but it's worth it. Maurits got up at 5:30 to queue up in front of the store. |

Gore VS. Big Brother (Nov 15 2003 18:56 GMT) - Gore VS. Big Brother - "I'm no fan of Al Gore. But, like him or lump him, he was one of the first Democratic politicians to put together a cogent critique of George W. Bush's Iraq policy. In a speech yesterday, Gore offered (what seems... |

One more Windows Worry (Nov 15 2003 18:55 GMT) - [Meerkat: An Open Wire Service] - I flunked Statistics, but I kept the books, and studied the subject later when I had a use for it. Especially useful (yes, I worked in PR and advertising) was the classic How to Lie With Statistics. Well, David Weinberger has found a classic case example of the How to Lie with Charts points in that book, with InformationWeek's two-chart comparison of "Windows Worries" |

Say it ain't Scott (Nov 15 2003 18:53 GMT) - Scott Simon, my formerly favorite Saturday Morning radio show host, devoted his audio essay this morning to blogs. You can listen here, if you like.At the 2001 PopTech, Bob Metcalfe chided David Weinberger and his fellow Cluetrainers for indulging in "the seven worst words on the Net"...
