Don't mock the president hopefuls; this T is trendy (Nov 16 2003 13:59 GMT) - For some Democratic presidential candidates, the idea of connecting with America's young electorate means showing up for events dressed as though they're running for Quiz-Bowl captain of the SS Enterprise. Two weeks ago, for instance, Gen. Wesley Clark wore a black blazer over a mock turtleneck shirt, and Dennis Kucinich wore a variation of the same. The evening, sponsored by Rock the Vote and hosted by CNN's Anderson Cooper, took place before an audience of under-30s, so the emphasis on the pre-debate hype was on youth. |
