- Le Forum social mondial de 2004 aura lieu à Mumbai Après trois années de solidarité et de tendresse brésiliennes, le FSM se déplace en janvier prochain à Mumbai, la mégapole indienne (15 millions d'habitants). Le défi est dantesque, car contrairement à Porto Alegre, le mouvement social du monde entier se réunit dans un contexte de montée de la droite et de menaces contre le mouvement social. Mais selon Marcela Escribano, qui siège au conseil international du FSM comme représentante d'Alternatives, « c'est justement à cause de ce défi que nous avons décidé de relocaliser le FSM, pour aider le mouvement social en Inde à reprendre l'initiative et pour montrer à la face du monde et de l'opinion publique indienne, que nous sommes forts ! » On attend plus de 100 000 participant-es à Mumbai, dont une importante délégation du Québec et du Canada. |
