(Nov 26 2003 23:15 GMT) - [Meerkat: An Open Wire Service] - According to ZDNet, Richard Stallman, OSDL CEO Stewart Cohen, Transmeta general John Horsley, Novell Corp., and Linus Torvalds have had the honor of being subpoenaed by SCO. But what about the thousands of others who have contributed to Linux kernel and GNU software development, and the hundreds of thousands who have studied and publicized Linux? Why don't any of us deserve SCO's attention? |

W3C and ISO Publish Final Version of Portable Network Graphics (PNG) Specification (Nov 26 2003 23:14 GMT) - The "Portable Network Graphics (PNG) Specification" Second Edition has been published as a W3C Recommendation and as an International Standard, ISO/IEC 15948:2003. PNG defines an extensible file format for lossless, portable, well-compressed storage of raster images. It provides a patent-free replacement for GIF and can replace many common uses of TIFF. Indexed-color, grayscale, and truecolor images are supported, plus an optional alpha channel. |
