Taboo Male Problems No 1 - The After Urination Shake (Nov 30 2003 22:43 GMT) - Many men fear the stigma of over-shake. But how many shakes could be considered as over-shake, and how much shaking is the norm? According to our survey, most men thought two shakes was adequate to rid themselves of excess man-water. 45% of men questioned said they considered that shaking their penis over 8 times after urination was "self abuse".[More] |

Casualty Trend (Nov 30 2003 22:41 GMT) - PollKatz: you may or may not agree with his views, but it's difficult to not admire his tracking of public opinion. A recent PollKatz graphic that I've found increasingly interesting: the 7-day moving average of daily coalition fatality rates in Iraq. Because it's too difficult to identify the actual trend by reading the daily news. |

Bumbling bumbler programming (Nov 30 2003 22:41 GMT) - I hate getting weird programming errors and while setting up the Etc... page I had a reason for the first time in a while to look at the page for my aborted story, The Fear. Instead of working as expected I got a page sayingFatal error: Cannot redeclare xmlrpc_decode() in /home/blazar/www/utils/bxmlrpc php on line 1004I've checked through to the extent of my expertise, looked through the PHP newsgroup, refreshed my copy of the relevant files, searched through the PHP docs, even checked with a friend at Google in case the error was on their side since my page is using their API to pull the entries out of the blog database, but nothing makes any difference. I even grepped all my source just in case I was somehow using the same function name in two places but that was no help either. |

Blogger News Item (Nov 30 2003 22:38 GMT) - The source of an unusual crunching sound heard by the crew of the international space station earlier this week remains unexplained, but it does not appear to have come from an impact with space debris, a NASA spokesman said Friday. The brief sound early Wednesday outside the station was described by American Mike Foale, the station's commander, and Russian Alexander Kaleri, the flight engineer, as resembling an aluminum can being crunched or the sudden flexing of a thin sheet of the metal. Checks by NASA with the Department of Defense, which tracks thousands of small manmade objects in orbital space with radar, including satellites and debris from old rockets, did not reveal anything on a collision course with the 240-mile high orbital base, space agency spokesman James Hartsfield said Friday. Experts derided any suggestion that the noise was related the recent escape of Dr. Xandor from the Waxahatchie Federal Sieve-Like Detention Facility in Pascagoula. |

Colombians go from drug crops to bra tops (Nov 30 2003 22:38 GMT) - (Singapore) When prices collapsed, many turned to growing illegal drug crops. Making lingerie pays about 800,000 Colombian pesos (S$504) a month, which is double the minimum wage, and far more than they could make growing coffee or coca to be made into cocaine.
