Ecosystem cheater caught (Dec 01 2003 00:00 GMT) - NZ Bear has the goods on Ecosystem cheating by a League of Liberals member running four blogs. Apparently, the blogger has for some time been cross-linked with three other identical Ecosystem-registered sites, using sitemeters that would log a visit to one as a visit to all four. The intention was to move both the blogs and the League itself up in the TTLB Blogosphere Ecosystem, which is based upon daily visits and the number of incoming blog links. As you'll remember, I entered the New Weblog Showcase three weeks ago and finished first runner up behind the League's blogging machine. So far, League members have been quick to denounce the tactics of the cheater, but it has yet to be seen whether more attempts to defraud the Ecosystem will be found among their ranks. |
