Now who's pro-shoplifting? (Dec 02 2003 04:16 GMT) - Last week John Kerry went so far as to leave the mainstream completely and enter a kind of calculated alternate universe of nattering appeasement. After all, this is a man who has tried to get his hands on uranium. James... |

Solving the mobile smartphone issues with Treo 600 (Dec 02 2003 04:13 GMT) - I found another very good review of the Treo 600. After using my Dad's Nokia 3650 I think the Treo 600 could be a good next phone for me. I have tried the Treo in the stores and the keyboard size is not difficult for me to work with, actually it is very usable. The screen size is a little small, but it would work well and it is not that much smaller than my Hiptop. I have had a Palm OS device for four or five years now and I really like the interface and the breadth of applications available is great also. |

Catalog of the Cool (Dec 02 2003 04:13 GMT) - Wired's article on Kevin Kelley's Catalog of the Cool had me aching to get home and take a peek at the Cool Tools. I was a fan of the Whole Earth Catalog (now an online magazine) when I was growing up. I think we only had one copy that was bought when I was in fourth grade, but I always flipped through it. I was fascinated with all the different stuff that filled its pages. I was a particular fan of the log cabin and some of the other outdoor items. |

Danceworks and Vegas a good fit (Dec 02 2003 04:12 GMT) - Whole generations of female modern dancers, in the 1960s and '70s, tried very hard not to look sexy or glamorous on stage. Lipstick and cleavage just weren't compatible with feminist-leftist politics. |

Christian bands worthy of praise (Dec 02 2003 04:12 GMT) - If there's a problem with contemporary Christian music, it's that too often you have the sense that there are record company presidents sitting in Nashville, Tenn., listening to whatever is at the top of the pop charts and trying to figure out how they can imitate that sound with a Christian message. |

Party-goers can get animated (Dec 02 2003 04:12 GMT) - Video games and the high-tech toys that go with them can turn your traditional holiday gatherings into singing, swinging spectacles. These games and gadgets involve spending as much time gawking at the players as at the TV screen, making them a lively, memorable social experience that family and friends will talk about long after Thanksgiving leftovers are gone and the wrapping paper from gifts has been hauled away. At least a few of your guests will need to be exhibitionists to truly take advantage of this party technology. So make sure you have enough bottles of Christmas cheer to help loosen up some of the stodgier attendees who might be too shy to bust a move. |

Where's The Money In Spam? In Stopping It (Dec 02 2003 04:11 GMT) - I doubt this is all that surprising, but a new report suggests that anti-spam companies will bring in noticeably more revenue than the spammers themselves. Of course, creating anti-spam products actually takes some work, whereas spam is the job of lazy people who have no longterm vision, but just want money as quickly and as easily as possible. Still, when you look at the amount of money spent on both sides, it's fairly stunning just how much money moves due to spam. |
