Mobile Game Piracy: Lessons for the Industry (Dec 02 2003 10:29 GMT) - Okay, so I debated writing this for a bit, but decided that writing a little expose on the problem of illegal copies of games on mobile phones was needed. But there's definitely a fine line between talking about specifics and outright advocacy. I'm eager to show some of this stuff off because I'm just amazed it's possible. But I don't want to encourage this sort of thing because it's bad for the industry as a whole and just wrong. It's a real problem though, and I don't think most people are aware the extent to which pirated software is playing a part in the burgeoning mobile applications industry. |

Backlog! (Dec 02 2003 10:28 GMT) - I've got a bunch of stuff that I want to get out, but it's pretty late here so I can't do it tonight. But thank goodness I'm back online at decent speeds at home. I can catch up with my aggregator, post quickly and easily, etc. Ahhh. Does it seem strange that it seems like I'm "home" now that I have a decent net connection? |

DSL Problems: Solved! (Dec 02 2003 10:28 GMT) - So FINALLY, after weeks of waiting, SBC supposedly turned on my DSL today. But no joy. I have no idea what's going on, but the little orange light on my 2wire.com HomePortal 1000SW wireless hub/modem thing won't turn green. There's not much to do to the box besides turn it off and on and watch the lights flicker... |

Carrier Choice Redux: Still Torn (Dec 02 2003 10:28 GMT) - So I can't figure out what I want to do about my cellphone contract. It's between T-Mobile and AT&T Wireless, but I'm not sure which one I want. If I sign up for a new "family" account online with AT&T, I can get two cool phones pretty much for free (my choices: a SonyEricsson T610 and a Nokia 6200) and I get to play with EDGE which has been rolled out nationally. A one year contract would cost me about $80 a month for the two lines for about 600 minutes with nights and weekends free. |

<SpyWare Update - I See ... (Dec 02 2003 10:28 GMT) - <SpyWare Update - I See YouThe Software Formerly Known As Spyware. In October, Gator threatened legal action against a site that dared to call its software spyware. They claim that it's only spyware if it's downloaded without the person knowing about it. Having just spent some of my Thanksgiving vacation removing Gator from my father's computer, I beg to differ. |

Vancouver (Dec 02 2003 10:26 GMT) - Wußte gar nicht, wie schön Vancouver ist: This would be the downtown core of Vancouver, looking North; check out the fresh snow on the mountains behind town, the skiers quiver when they see that. Thanks to Robin Copas, this was shot from his studio Tim Bray mit einem wie er findet "inhaltsleeren Beitrag" - kann ich nicht bestätigen.... |
