- I remembered this afternoon that it was two years ago today that I got the call from my doctor telling me to drop what I was doing and check myself into the emergency room, immediately. The day before I had gone in for some routine followup scans, and when the radiologist was looking at them, he noticed a large blockage in my heart. I had an open heart operation two days later, and the "mass" is still a mystery, even though a half dozen leading heart and sarcoma doctors have had a look at it. It was not positively identified as cancer, but it was not positively identified as all the other things it could heve been either, like a clot or debris from my chemo port that had been removed a few months earlier. So it remains my "mystery clot. |
