Pshaw! (Dec 02 2003 23:46 GMT) - There's a comment on Sua Sponte's blog which states, in a slightly snippy fashion, that one could spend more time doing outlines and less time complaining about doing outlines while blogging. Time is finite. Energy is finite. (Obligatory Zathras quote:... |

ER: Two Years Ago (Dec 02 2003 23:46 GMT) - I remembered this afternoon that it was two years ago today that I got the call from my doctor telling me to drop what I was doing and check myself into the emergency room, immediately. The day before I had gone in for some routine followup scans, and when the radiologist was looking at them, he noticed a large blockage in my heart. I had an open heart operation two days later, and the "mass" is still a mystery, even though a half dozen leading heart and sarcoma doctors have had a look at it. It was not positively identified as cancer, but it was not positively identified as all the other things it could heve been either, like a clot or debris from my chemo port that had been removed a few months earlier. So it remains my "mystery clot. |

UK/Personal: Faith in the Media (Dec 02 2003 23:45 GMT) - Yesterday, James mentioned that people don't stand up publicly for what they believe in enough. Interestingly, today I came across two very public examples of people doing just that. The first example was in the press. The papers have been all over abortion and Christianity today, but not in the way you might expect. A Church of England curate is pushing for a legal challenge to to a decision not to prosecute a doctor who allowed the abortion of a baby after the 24th week, on the basis of serious disability. |
