No Eclipse at Sun (Dec 03 2003 23:39 GMT) - In an e-mail today, Tom Baker of CHEN PR forwarded a statement from my old acquaintance Joe Keller (hey, Joe, I still have my iPlanet ballcap! ). Basically, Keller announced that the anticipated merging of Sun's open source Java IDE efforts with the IBM-led Eclipse project is not going to happen. This is not a big surprise, really. BEA has also steered clear of Eclipse. |

Word of Honor (Dec 03 2003 23:36 GMT) - TV Reviews: Condensing a complex novel into 90 minutes of actual movie is always tricky, but the narrative seams are particularly apparent in an otherwise well-made military drama worth seeing principally for Don Johnson's flinty performance. TNT pic is interesting if only by virtue of its timing with current events. |

Working together ... 2388 miles apart (Dec 03 2003 23:34 GMT) - Mike got his iSight yesterday. Today we tried it out and got excellent full-screen video. Probably helps that we're both on Internet2, though I suspect it'll work about as well from home. We decided to work together today. Since we live so far apart, we don't get to see each other often (only a couple of times a year), and the time is way too precious to spend on something like working (though we do get some recreational computing time in). |
