All Kinds of Cuts (Dec 04 2003 18:57 GMT) - Yesterday I read this entry over at the Doc Searls weblog (still loving the Cluetrain Manifesto, by the way) about manners and how we write. It caused a moment of self-reflection. See, in the past few weeks I've gotten a few comments and emails by folks who take exception to my pearls of wisdom and have called me bitter or hostile or unsympathetic or downright mean (superior, smug, and a few other choice terms have also been floated, like test balloons). Now, a number of these are anonymous comments, and well - I've been writing for a long time, I've got a thick skin, and I'm not gonna work up a lot of concern over people who aren't willing to stand behind their comments. But after one of my Blog Critics posts (the Michael Jackson one, originally posted here) generated a bit of heat I had to wonder: |

Usually lurking somewhere near the bandages and plasters, methinks. I'm a light sleeper who's managed to have a succession of flatmates/neighbours with distressing taste in music, particularly piercing voices and apparently random sleep patterns. I'm beginning to think i should audition them... |
