LinkSz("peter/slides/elearning pdf", "eLearning at Universities: educational models, strategies and perspectives")} at the OCG Gala21 event in Graz. Have a look to the full programme of the "Gala21 Invitation" with the very interesting format of the conference: Events, talks, discussions the whole day until midnight, interrupted just by coffee breaks, breaks for lunch, dinner and a desert buffet. |

Homepage disaster (Dec 05 2003 16:32 GMT) - For several days my homepage was not accessible. During the transfer of my Domain to a new provider the central computer department of the "University of Innsbruck" closed the machine where all the "Manila" websites were hosted. So we had to change to a new server and transfer all websites. But I couldn't change the DNS entries of my website accordingly as I had to wait until the tranfer of my domain to the new provider was completed. Sorry for the inconvenience! |

strips (Dec 05 2003 16:32 GMT) - I've been watching the Scripting News redesign. Now that I see where he's going, it's deja vu all over again. Dave has introduced a featured in which he rotates the banners at the top of his web page. He's where randomWalks has been for over four years. I bet Dave wishes he had adopted the randomWalks engine four years ago. |

METAMORPHOSIS (Dec 05 2003 16:31 GMT) - The word integrity has been so thoroughly co-opted by technologists that its use in ordinary language has almost ceased. That's a shame, because it's an important word, one that has no precise equivalent in the English language. According to OED, it means something undivided; an integral whole. The condition of having no part or element taken away. |

Who am I? (Dec 05 2003 16:29 GMT) - As posted by Jonny G over here: Who are you? Why do you have a site commenting on mostly banal matters without having the inside knowledge, experience or intelligence to know what is really going on? A classic example is your comments on Swindon's "Magic Roundabout" |

PanAfrica [analysis]: Life After Power (Dec 05 2003 16:29 GMT) - This week's Commonwealth heads of government summit in Nigeria is a makeor break moment for NEPAD, the initiative designed by Africans to modernizeAfrica's governance and economics. Zimbabwe's ongoing economic decline underthe misrule of President Robert Mugabe, have raised doubts about NEPAD's keyinnovation, its self-monitoring instrument, the African Peer ReviewMechanism (APRM). For if Mugabe can be let off the hook, will Nepad's peerreview process ever work? |
