Cam-Pain (Dec 07 2003 04:59 GMT) - You know, I like John Kerry and I think he would make a good president, but this "hardcore" image he's trying to spin out just comes across as slightly weak. Many of his supporters recognize this, I believe, and I... |

Helpline Comment (24671) (Dec 07 2003 04:58 GMT) - naming computer parts some people have strange ideas about things. "turn in your hard drive"???? i could see "turn on your cpu" still sort of strange. the most common thing was confusing storage ( hard disk space) and memory ( chips) some never got it right saying " my computer has 400 megs of memory" when really it had 16 megs of memory and 400 megs of hard drive space., don't even try to correct them- don't confuse these fine folks with facts. |

Everything is Beautiful at the Ballet (Dec 07 2003 04:57 GMT) - I was able to get two free tickets to the ballet from my work place this week, as a part of a promotional deal. They were tickets to The Nutcracker. I decided to take my mom, she appreciated it more than Mark would have, even with free tickets I would be hard pressed to get Mark to the ballet :) What was a little odd, since the tickets were through a work promotion, is that we were seated with coworkers... including my boss. |

Radio 8, in early 2002, was the milestone, it has both sides of the equation covered, publishing and aggregation. It turned RSS from a promising idea into something for users. |

Workstation (Dec 07 2003 04:52 GMT) - I've only had a notebook (well, a couple of them, but only one at a time) for the past four years. I have been wanting a new workstation for a couple years, and finally bit the bullet yesterday. I'm picky when it comes to hardware, and like to custom build my own workstations. This one is a dual Opteron processor with 4GB RAM in a silent case. Before you ask what anyone would need 4GB for, remember we do lots of testing with big caches, and I never seem to have enough memory for testing. |
