Open Season on Michael Eisner? (Dec 08 2003 04:57 GMT) - The New York Times reports on criticism of Michael Eisner, the chairman of the Walt Disney Company. Complaints about Mr. Eisner's ways are nothing new, particularly since the death in 1994 of Frank G. Wells, his former No. 2 and a moderating influence on his boss's more confrontational style. |

All Mecha Are Equal (Dec 08 2003 04:57 GMT) - Relatives and friends with no interest in anime can stop reading here. But my anime friend James will be pleased to hear this, as he's a big mecha fan, and knows more about Gundam than most 'mundane' folk would consider healthy Kelly and I were downstairs exercising together today, and watching Big O while we did it. Big O is an interesting show, where the main character 'pilot's a fighting robot known as Big O. In the show, all piloted robots of it's kind are referred to a MegaDeuces. Kelly knows this, and even that a pilot is called a Dominus. |

Deceptive attacks on Democratic economic plans (12/8) (Dec 08 2003 04:54 GMT) - By Bryan Keefer Recently several prominent conservatives have unfairly attacked the economic plans of Democratic presidential candidates using misleading tactics similar to those the Bush administration has employed in the past. The attacks have centered on proposals by a number of Democrats to repeal all or part of the tax cuts enacted in 2001 and 2003. On December 3, Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie gave a speech in New Hampshire in which he stated: Consider this: Every single Democrat running for President today is for raising taxes on working Americans. |
