Blogger News Item (Dec 10 2003 20:59 GMT) - I was waiting to see this go mainstream. It is very dangerous of course. The New Yorker reports that the US has authorized a major escalation of the Special Forces covert war in Iraq, in what is being seen as a clear victory for the "manhunts" policy of US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. The idea is to create a special force, called Task Force 121, to "neutralize" Baathist insurgents, by capture or assassination. The team has been assembled from Army Delta Force members, Navy seals, and CIA paramilitary operatives. |

Lightscion (Dec 10 2003 20:58 GMT) - "There is no money in truth," said George Herbert Walker Bush. The truth -- which is what this website is about -- likes to be seen, breathes in the open, enlightens the beams of our global communication. Truth is the function of any network, it feeds and maintains the World Wide Web, radiates off our computer monitors, and drives us all to want to talk to each other, to share common goals. Truth flourishes in countries where democracy has been firmly ascertained; people in democracies increasingly want to leave violence behind, control greed and -- the most challenging of all -- never lie. |

FreeShade (Dec 10 2003 20:58 GMT) - FreeShade's basic reason for existence is to provide window shading for Windows. It also does a bit more than this, but before getting to that, what is window shading? Window shading is when you double-click on a window's caption and the window rolls itself up so that only its caption (or title bar) is visible. |

Het symbolisch bedoelde elektronische postbericht las: "I hope we can all use the web to realise that other people are just like ourselves even if they speak different languages or have different abilities". Berners-Lee ontwikkelde ongeveer 15 jaar geleden zijn web server op een NeXTCube omdat die machine beschikte over "the first intuitive point-and-click and folders interface for personal computers". |
