Masked Reviewer to be new Beanort drummer? (Dec 10 2003 23:59 GMT) - JustBands have got a peculiar review here in which the "Masked Reviewer" praises Beanort to the high heavens and then announces he's joining the band. On that basis can we take this snippet " I’d love to see them pack it all in and get out on the road full time, in America or Europe before the real world gets them" as a statement of intent? |

Almost home (Dec 10 2003 23:58 GMT) - Leave it to me to both wear my glasses and forget my umbrella on a day when it was supposed to rain. And did I mention I wore my furry coat? Yeah, that way, when I'm walking home from the train in the pouring down rain I can't see anything because I'm blind without my glasses and there's fur sticking to my face. At least I had the good sense to wear black pants. Because at least I didn't look like I pissed myself when I got splashed by gutter water from the nice pick up truck that swerved into the puddle. |

Microsoft FAT patents 'could be re-opened' (Dec 10 2003 23:58 GMT) - If Microsoft decides to mine its patent portfolio for cash, it's likely to face a few unexpected consequences. A new patent body that's vowing to defend the free software community against Microsoft's new patents-for-cash revenue strategy says it will ask the US Patent Office to go back to square one, and systematically examine the validity of the patents in question. This is an unusual tactic that promises to bring the overworked USPTO's approval of questionable patents right into the spotlight. |

So Yesterday (Dec 10 2003 23:56 GMT) - I've kind of waffled on keeping this blog alive for awhile. I won't bore you with too many details--it's the same shit, different day. Uncomfortable with the format, apathy about actually writing here, etc, so forth, ad nauseum. So yesterday, when I found myself thinking, Wow, I should blog this, every ten minutes or so, I was kind of surprised. I told Sam last night while writing an outline--an outline, for a blog post--that I was surprised with my forthcoming, almost Lileks-y tangentialism. |
