SCO sends IBM 1,000,000 pieces ... (Dec 11 2003 06:48 GMT) - SCO sends IBM 1,000,000 pieces of paper: "As part of a court order to provide IBM with evidence relating to SCO's frivolous anti-Linux lawsuit, SCO sent IBM one million sheets of paper on which were printed the source-code that SCO alleges is being infringed upon. Of course, this is just a tactic to sabotage IBM's defense, since it needs all that code in a machine-readable format." (via Dan Gillmor) [Boing Boing Blog] |

Movie reviewed (Dec 11 2003 06:48 GMT) - Ok, the first thing I want to say is that it has been several months since I last saw the Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition on DVD, so my recollections are not crystal clear. That said, there were several parts of the movie in theatres that I have no recollection of ever seeing before, so I think they may have added stuff when they prepped the extended edition for theatres. Also, a warning to those who are going to the marathon: use your intermissions wisely, because at the three hour mark I was ready to go to sleep, and without proper preparation I can definitely see a good number of people wasting their purchase and falling asleep halfway through Return of the King. Unfortunately if you cannot go see the Fellowship Extended in theatre today, the only option left is the marathon. |

Nothing keeps man from run (Dec 11 2003 06:46 GMT) - When he was a student at Hartford High School, Peter Rettler decided he'd try to get in 120 pull-ups each and every day, and for two years, he more or less succeeded. At the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Rettler - whose natural weight was about 155 to 160 pounds, but who wrestled at 126 - spent who knows how many hours encased in a rubber suit and a sweat suit doing lap after lap after lap around the track, trying to make weight. |
