Wakka Wakka Wakka (Dec 11 2003 08:15 GMT) - Most of you have probably already seen the amazing SMB3 video that's been floating around the 'Net lately. I think Chris found something that tops it. With these files, you can play a mean game of Pac Man or Space Invaders directly in Excel. They each come close to reviving the classic coin-op sights and sounds. At least, enough for me to care enough to post about 'em.... |

How Monty Python changed the world (Dec 11 2003 08:14 GMT) - No matter where you look, even in some of the remotest parts of the planet, you can't avoid Monty Python. Just ask Michael Palin. The Monty Python member was recently in the Himalayas making the latest in his series of travel programs. As he climbed a peak in the Annapurna group, making a steep ascent of one of the highest mountains in the world, he stopped to catch his breath. At that moment a pair of mountain climbers came by. |

A back door closes (Dec 11 2003 08:10 GMT) - A narrow majority on the Supreme Court on Wednesday gave voters an early Christmas gift by upholding key sections of a new law designed to limit the influence of money on politics. In a 5-4 decision, the high court ruled that sections of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act that constrain the flow of massive contributions to political parties are legal. The court's action is a major step toward diluting the political influence that special interests exert on Congress by means of enormous financial contributions. |
