Royals to be moved outside London (Dec 11 2003 19:24 GMT)

- The government is to announce plans to move the principal members of the Royal Family outside London, The Eye Opener has learned. The move parallels plans by Chancellor Gordon Brown to sell off some prime buildings in central London and halve office rental costs by relocating between 20,000 and 30,000 civil servants outside the capital. Douglas Ramsbottom, a spokesman for Mr Brown, noted that there is no longer any defensible reason for civil servants to be physically located near to their political masters in the capital. Traditional media and entertainment companies are looking at wireless as the next big distribution channel, with 1.4 billion mobile subscribers. Studios have begun to embrace mobile phones as another potentially lucrative distribution channel for their content. While some, like Disney, have created their own mobile-entertainment divisions, the majority have licensed their brands to specialized mobile-entertainment companies with names like Mforma and Jamdat Mobile.

Conversation about Outsourcing (Dec 11 2003 19:22 GMT)

I am starting to believe that the boundary is moving in favor of outsourcing as communications and practices improve.

wTicker

Japanese alphabet (Dec 11 2003 19:22 GMT)

- I made my first steps with the wticker project about 13-14 month ago and since that time a lot of new and exciting stuff crossed my way, like RDF, Syndic8, MT, XML, XSLT, HTML, NITF, SQL, PHP, UTF8 and others . Also I jumped eventually over my neurotic relationship to times and timezones. And in addition to this, I visited aimlessly probably most dead-end roads, which lead to bad program usability. However, the most remarkable thing I stumbled over during the development of wticker, is the japanese alphabet. This was when I was debugging some "character-encoding" - problem.

The Commonwealth of Program Witch (Dec 11 2003 19:20 GMT)

Its hardnosed, hardworking, intelligent population of 5 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often. A robust private sector is led by the Woodchip Exports, Soda Sales, and Basket Weaving industries.
