The Onion A.V. Club's Least Essential Albums of 2003 (Dec 12 2003 00:07 GMT) - Sure, everyone does a "best of" list at the end of the year, but The Onion's "least essential" list is one of the most entertaining to read. An example: LEAST ESSENTIAL TRIBUTE ALBUM Various Artists The Acoustic Coffee House Presents: A Female Tribute To Creed As someone named Bill Lefler strums away on an acoustic guitar with the care and cautious tempo of a first-year student, a parade of emotion-drained, seemingly identical singers with names like "Marmalade" and "Susannah B" work their way through the Creed catalog. Believe it or not, "With Arms Wide Open" and "Higher" can sound worse than they already do. |

Feature request: full news headers (Dec 12 2003 00:07 GMT) - I'd like to have the option to have the full news headers included in NNTP downloads. I know my newsserver supplies them, but newsgator does not seem to have a way to pass them through.[posted by John Deltuvia] |

Renzo Tram Aglino (Dec 12 2003 00:06 GMT) - Milano. |

Feature request: Fine-tuning resource allocation (Dec 12 2003 00:06 GMT) - The resource allocation appears to control how many connections to the Internet are done at once by newsgator. Since my newsserver only allows one connection from me at a time, and returns an error if I try more, I have to control it by putting it to the lowest level of use. |

What a difference one filling station makes (Dec 12 2003 00:05 GMT) - It's been about 10 days since Tesco opened its filling station in Finglas and the effect has been astounding. The day it opened, Tesco was selling unleaded petrol for 79.4cent per litre (that's around 55p per litre in Sterling). Two days later, Charlie McCreevy added 5c per litre onto the cost of petrol with immediate effect. Naturally enough, that evening there was a very long queue outside Tesco. |

Won't you be my neighbor? (Dec 12 2003 00:04 GMT) - This house is only four doors down from us, on the same side of the street, and it's for sale. I can't believe how much they're asking for it, considering our house cost less than half of what they're asking, but the pictures of the inside, posted here, certainly look nicer than our house did when we bought it. And, it has 2 more bedrooms, 2 more bathrooms, and one more garage stall... but still... |
