- They're in the news again, Halliburton my old employer, and I don't like seeing them in the press with all the negative connotations. Knowing the players there I would be more than surprised, I would be astonished, if there was an active attempt to defraud the government on the price of shipping fuel to Iraq. It just doesn't make sense. In actual fact the New York Times article states, “The officials said Halliburton did not appear to have profited from overcharging for fuel, but had instead paid a subcontractor too much for the gasoline in the first place. Halliburton has also said that one reason it needed to charge a high price for fuel was that it must be delivered in a combat zone. |

- You might’ve read on my blog a few days ago I that I found myself in need of importing links from an OPML file into a Wordpress blog. I implemented some code to do just that except that it was made specifically for the feed I had available (a NetNewsWire OPML file). One of the developers on the Wordpress team got inspired by my idea and implemented it in a more thoughtout way by using an XML parser to extract the data. This made the OPML importer able to work across all aggregators and the code a lot more pretty. |
