Funky Flashman is Stan Lee, not Wolfman (Dec 12 2003 23:21 GMT) - In a post below which mentioned the Funky Flashman, I said that the character was based on Marv Wolfman. This is something I had read in a comic magazine some 15+ years ago and had never questioned, but Mario di Giacomo has corrected me in the comments of the piece that he was based on Stan Lee. I don't feel too embarrassed about getting this wrong, as Marv has always resembled the Funky Flashman as well and I had no clue how a young stud like Marv might have dressed in the 1970s. Still, the bombastic style of Funky Flushman is very similar to Stan Lee's public persona. Seeking to confirm this, I have found an article in the Quarter Bin site which mentions it several times. |

Restaurants Featuring Local Produce (Dec 12 2003 23:15 GMT) - I like dining at Heartland because I like the idea of eating locally-produced, sustainably-harvested food. However, Heartland is 'far' off in St Paul while I live in Minneapolis. Curious to know which restaurants in Minneapolis are like Heartland, I asked the Mpls Issues List. |
