Rano Gayley: The Traveling Ashram, Part Five (Dec 13 2003 17:17 GMT) - While we were traveling throughout India in those years, Baba occasionally took us sightseeing. But sightseeing with Baba was an uncommon affair. We moved very rapidly from one sight to the next, staying in one spot only long enough for a quick glimpse. One time he took us, to the Arts of Different Nations Museum in Jaipur and as soon as I entered it I was entranced. The museum was not overwhelming as so many are in the West. |

Rano Gayley: The Traveling Ashram, Part Four (Dec 13 2003 17:17 GMT) - It was very cold in Quetta and a very heavy frost occurred while we were there even though technically winter was over. We stayed in Quetta a month. Baba sent Norina to Karachi to lecture. Elizabeth gave Mani driving lessons. And, of course, Baba used the opportunity to contact masts. |

Dean is getting hammered (Dec 13 2003 17:17 GMT) - Good lord, the knives really came out. Far away the worst is the new ad by a 527 (whose leadership seems to be recent Kerry and Gephardt staffers. Big surprise, right) which uses images of Osama Bin Laden in order to attack Dean's commitment to defendin |

U.S. officer let off easy for beating Iraqi (Dec 13 2003 17:15 GMT) - This is kind of shocking. First a chunk of the AP story, so you can make your own assessment, then my take: An American lieutenant colonel pleaded guilty to beating an Iraqi detainee and threatening to kill him during an interrogation, but will be fined and allowed to retire rather than face a court-martial, the military said Saturday. . . |

New Jersey anti-trust lawyer Alan Milstein (Dec 13 2003 17:13 GMT) - may have found the loophole Maurice Clarett needs to enter the NFL draft this year:When the rule was adopted in February 1990, NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue issued a press release saying players could enter the draft only after "three full college seasons" had elapsed since their high school graduation. Over the past decade, the notion that players must wait three years has become widely accepted. However, as noted by Clarett's attorneys, the formal language of Section 12.1(E) of the bylaws is: |

Helpline Comment (24729) (Dec 13 2003 17:13 GMT) - I have been building pc's for a couple of years now & by a weird freak accident last night cut my finger on the end of a motherboard while putting it in a case. Thought big deal, put a little alcohol on it last night & when I woke up this morning it had swollen up like it was infected. Just went to a pharmacy & pharmacist directed me to some over the counter medication. Hopefully will be better by Monday, if not I will have to visit a doctor. It is sort of deep, but is looking some better now swelling is gone. |
