Virginia catches two spammers (Dec 13 2003 21:59 GMT) - Virginia Attorney General Jerry Kilgore has filed what are the first, and could be the last felony charges under that state's anti spam laws, due to the apparently weaker CAN-SPAM law recently passed, and the charges are filed against North Carolina resident Jeremy Jaynes, also known under the pseudonym "Gaven Stubberfield," and his associate Richard Rutowski. They are charged with allegedly using fraudulent means to transmit unsolicited bulk e-mail. While this is the first criminal charge against a spammer, this is likely to be a growing trend as states take action on behalf of their residents as the problem of Spam on the net has grown to frustrating and costly proportions. Sadly, while CAN-SPAM is a beginning, it will allow for much shrewder tactics to send spam. Comments (0) |

Guess I will just start again by blogging some very simple stuff - so my contribution for today :-) - this thought provoking article on leadership by Margaret J. Wheatley. The article reminds me that we are all leaders in one way or another and that each of us has the ability to make a difference and that we need to help and support each others development. |

Lost Cosmonauts (Dec 13 2003 21:53 GMT) - It is a well known fact that, at the beginning of the space race, the Soviet authorities refused to admit failure in their manned missions. 4 years with Haldur (Dec 13 2003 21:52 GMT) - Haldur Gislufsson moved in with me almost exactly 4 years ago (on December 6th, 1999, to be precise). As Haldur loves Manner wafers, I celebrated the occasion and gave him a giant pack of wafers — it looks exactly like the normal wafer packs, but it's much, much larger (the equivalent of 18 regular packs, to be precise). Quite a treat. Now I imagine there'll be wafer crumbs all over the flat for the next few days... |
