Saturday night, economic interdependence and the KMT (Dec 13 2003 23:32 GMT) - Lu and G went off to see Mike Patton in all three of his current incarnations (The Melvins, Fantomas and Tomahawk). I swore never to see another Fantomas gig because ... well ... I think they suck. So I was suckered into a meal with A and A at Gauchos - an Argentinean steak house in Annandale. |

One For The Speed Freaks (Dec 13 2003 23:32 GMT) - Actually here are two things for you. Firstly Ralf Schumacher's 'live' telemetry readout as he drives his F1 racing car. And secondly, a nifty gizmo that you can put in your own car to see how it, erm, compares. Just don't blame me when you get nicked for speeding. |

If Apple Mac market share doesn't begin to creep up soon it never will (Dec 13 2003 23:31 GMT) - "Evidence that diversity leads to a healthier PC ecosystem comes from users of Apple Computer Inc.'s Macintosh operating systems, who like to point out that they are immune from most of the electronic infections that are spreading on any given day. Others advocate so-called open-source software – programs written by volunteers who make them available to others, often at no cost," Alan Goldstein reports for The Dallas Morning News. "Microsoft officials counter that if no one... |

Clinton Googles Self (Dec 13 2003 23:29 GMT) - Citing curiosity as his primary motive, Bill Clinton typed his own name into the popular search engine Google.com during a lull in his daily activities, the former president reported."I had no idea I would get 2,790,000 results!" Santa is a fascist! (Dec 13 2003 23:29 GMT) - "Good evening, this is the news from the BBC, 25th December 2010. Several arrests were made today after a dawn raid on an illegal Christmas celebration in Hertfordshire. Acting on a tip-off, armed officers swooped on the residential premises where they found a secret grotto, a fully-decorated Christmas Tree and up to two dozen suspects unwrapping gifts and singing carols. The police also recovered large quantities of contraband including a plate of mince pies, a... |

Arrival (Dec 13 2003 23:27 GMT) - Several weeks ago, I wrote about a friend who had just finished a frustrating date. I'm happy to find out, although I WAS taking a nap when he called, the reason I haven't heard back from him is things have been going extremely well. They've been out several times, and the trepidation seems to be completely behind them. Of course, he had to ask me how things were going for me after that. Honestly, not that bad. |

Meg @ 12/13/2003 02:56 PM (Dec 13 2003 23:27 GMT) - Oh god, yes! It was like that at the Meeester Timberlake concert. I was constantly having to move to let people out or in, depending on whether they had the bladder of a flea or thought that 8:30pm was a good time to arrive for the concert. Grrrr-argh. |

Assistance required by a budding entrepreneur… [Gary Martin] (Dec 13 2003 23:26 GMT) - After many months of development we have designed a solution that will allow visitors on a website to communicate directly in real-time to the owner / operator of the site in question. The solution is simply added to any website and requires no technical knowledge to implement. The solution “click4assistance” is now up and running and from the initial results and feedback things are looking very positive. However, due to the nature of the solution we are seeking more companies and individuals to ensure the product is scalable and gain their valuable feedback, the reason for this article… |

Kissing a Goblet of Drywall (Dec 13 2003 23:26 GMT) - Don't you wish you could sometimes take the remote control's buttons for your face? I do, and I guess that's why Frank Fiddlefanny, the guard outside my saxophone, told me to pipe down or else he would pour Drain-O in my mouth. It made sense, so I removed my infection and engaged in discussing strawberries with the electrical outlet. It's almost time for another annual Chrysanthemum Day, where a large Kool-Aid man flies around and tries to eat you. I know this because the nurse challenged me to a game of wits! |

Howard Dean refuses to state ... (Dec 13 2003 23:26 GMT) - Howard Dean refuses to state a view on H-1B/L-1 visas or offshoring of American jobs. (Contrary to popular myth that the foreign worker topic is a Republican run issue, its not. Democrats from Al Gore on down have strongly supported the importation of cheap labor into the U.S.) |
