The Last Samurai (Dec 14 2003 04:59 GMT) - I really enjoyed this film. I found it on par with Braveheart, Last of the Mohicans, and Dances With Wolves. While it does have some similarities with Dances With Wolves, it also has it's own voice and qualities. I especially liked the characters of the Samurai warriors. This movie... |

Interview with BBC News Online on the censorship in Iran - Full draft (Dec 14 2003 04:57 GMT) - Aaron Scullion from the BBC Online News had asked me a few questions about the Net censorship issue for the story he was trying to write. The story went online titled Iranian bloggers rally against censorship and it received a lot of attention from the blogosphere. But since I already have those questions and answers and they will be soon lost in piles of my old emails, I thought I'd publish them here, it may be helpful for someone. I don't have time to go back and edit them. So here are my quick answers with possibly lots of typos... |

New look for BBC Online and BBC World (Dec 14 2003 04:57 GMT) - I'm so happy that BBC Online has got rid of that ugly olive-ish color on all it's pages. Their top banner, now with this black thick line, looks much more comfortable now than it used to be. (I didn't find any explanation on these changes. Wish they had written soemthing about it.) At the samw time, BBC World (the TV newteok) has gone through major graphical changes. |

Helpline Comment (24736) (Dec 14 2003 04:54 GMT) - Well, kjanx, I was first introduced to computers in 1969 when Bill Gates was 13 years old and Microsoft wasn't even yet a glimmer in his eye. Am I to assume, from what you wrote, that you feel there never was any need for Microsoft to even pretend to provide support for any of their operating systems? I mean, if they were all perfect as released, what need would there be to provide even the illusion of support? And if they were all perfect as released, why do I have to download so many patches and fixes in order to fully set up any version of Windows you care to mention? If there was never any need for support in the first place, what difference does it make if they discontinue it? |
