It's Maybe Just About Almost ... (Dec 15 2003 01:44 GMT) - It's Maybe Just About Almost Over. So, I don't know. I think the Gore endorsement is pretty big news - it makes Dean "legit", and undercuts... [The Poor Man] Here is my conspiracy theory about Gore's endorsement. The core of the Democratic machine resides in the DLC, being run by Clinton's people. |

WSIS delegates bugged by RFIDs (Dec 15 2003 01:44 GMT) - An independent group of activist researchers discovered that all of the identification badges issued to delegates at the World Summit on the Information Society contained RFID chips capable of tracking the wearers' location. Alberto Escudero-Pascual, Stephane Koch and George Danezis attended the event without official credentials, obtaining entry after presenting valid personal ID. In this press release, the three computer professionals detailed their discovery of the RFIDs embedded in the Summit badges. Other links to the story: Washington Times Net4Nowt Indymedia U. |

It's that time of the year ... (Dec 15 2003 01:43 GMT) - Today, it was 15F (-9C) outside. I haven't acclimatized yet to the winter season, although days like this painfully speed that process along. Today (finally) we went and picked out a Christmas tree. The selection process was extraordinarily fast, as no one was enjoying the "crisp" weather outdoors. Tying the tree into the trunk, where it was unceremoniously shoved, involved the use of a metal box cutter (utility knife), which had instantly cooled to the outside temperature and thus attempted to steal any remaining warmth from my bare fingers (one cannot tie knots with gloves on, after all. |
