A New Blip on the Winemaking Radar (Dec 15 2003 22:59 GMT) - From across the vineyard, Susan Hubbard appears to be vacuuming between rows of vines at Robert Mondavi Winery in Oakville, Calif. But she's not interested in what's on the ground. She wants to know what's in it. |

AUS: Wine body riven by glut remark (Dec 15 2003 22:59 GMT) - The gloves are off in the usually polite West Australian wine society. You get the feeling that things down the Caves Road from the surfing town of Yallingup ñ which takes you into one of Australia's premier wine growing regions ñ just won't be the same anymore. |

Home again, home again... (Dec 15 2003 22:59 GMT) - Called Darkside this morning, and cursed all things AOL with him as amused witness. "I couldn't get the stupid thing to work to get me the stupid tickets!" I finally ranted. "Did you think of going down to the stupid theatre in stupid person?" he wanted to know. |

I don't regret seeing it, but if you've seen Dances with Wolves, you don't need to see it again. Also, read about the Al Qaeda connection. Cruise's movie about a disillusioned American joining ranks with pre-industrial anti-modernists sounds an awful lot like the story of Johnny Walker Lindh, aka the American Taliban. Exactly what Cruise's Samurai are fighting for is never made clear. |

Top Dog revisited (Dec 15 2003 22:56 GMT) - My second dog at Top Dog didn't quite cut it. I got the linguisa, and while it was exceptionally lean, it lacked the flavor that I expect from a linguisa. Perhaps my days on the festa circuit have me expecting too much. But three hours later, I am not having linguisa burps. While I think this is a plus, still Top Dog's linguisa is a little lacking. |
